Thriyv: Aftercare Information Sheet – Dermal Fillers
Purpose
This guide outlines what to expect following your dermal filler treatment and how to care for the treated areas to ensure the best and safest results. Please read carefully and follow the advice provided.
Immediately After Treatment
You may notice mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites. These effects are normal and usually settle within a few days. Small lumps, firmness, or minor bruising can also occur and will gradually improve as the product integrates with your tissue.
Aftercare Advice
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Do not apply makeup over the injection sites for 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, as these can increase swelling and bruising.
- Avoid heat exposure, such as saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths for 48 hours.
- Keep the area clean and avoid unnecessary contact.
- If tenderness or swelling occurs, apply a cool compress gently to the area.
Healing and Results
Swelling and mild bruising may be visible for several days. Results are typically visible immediately but will continue to settle over the following 1–2 weeks. The treated area will soften, and the final result will appear more natural as the product integrates.
To maintain results, follow-up treatments may be recommended every 6–18 months depending on the area treated, the product used, and individual metabolism.
Review Appointment
A review is recommended around 2 weeks after treatment to assess your results and ensure optimal balance and symmetry. Adjustments or top-ups, if required, will be discussed during this review.
Possible Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common reactions include redness, tenderness, swelling, or bruising at injection sites. Less common effects include lumps, prolonged swelling, or asymmetry. Rare but serious complications include infection, vascular occlusion, or tissue discolouration.
When to Contact the Clinic

- Persistent pain, blanching, or dusky skin discolouration.
- Increasing redness, swelling, or warmth that may indicate infection.
- Sudden severe pain, visual disturbance, or signs of vascular compromise.
