Thriyv: Before Treatment Information Sheet – Profhilo

Purpose

This guide provides important information to help you prepare for your upcoming Profhilo treatment at Thriyv. Please read it carefully and contact us if you have any questions prior to your appointment.

About the Treatment

Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment made from highly concentrated, pure hyaluronic acid (HA). Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it does not add volume or change facial structure. Instead, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin tone, texture, and elasticity. It is an ideal treatment for clients seeking natural rejuvenation and hydration without altering their facial contours.

Profhilo can be used on the face and neck to address fine lines, skin laxity, and dullness.

Expected Benefits

  • Deep hydration and improved skin quality.
  • Increased firmness, elasticity, and radiance.
  • Reduction in fine lines and crepiness.
  • A refreshed, naturally rejuvenated appearance.
  • Long-lasting results that continue to improve over several weeks.

How the Procedure Works

Profhilo is injected using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, a method designed to maximise even distribution and minimise discomfort. The treatment involves a series of small injections at specific anatomical points, allowing the product to spread beneath the skin for optimal results. The procedure typically takes around 20–30 minutes.

Treatment Course

A standard Profhilo treatment plan consists of two sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Some clients may benefit from a third session, depending on their skin condition. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 months to sustain results.

Medical and Consent Requirements

Before your appointment, you will need to complete a Medical History and Consent Form. Your Thriyv clinician will review your current medications, allergies, and medical history to ensure treatment safety. Please inform your clinician if you have recently had other injectable or aesthetic procedures.

Contraindications (When Treatment Cannot Proceed)

  • Profhilo treatment is not suitable for clients who:
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Are under 18 years of age.
  • Have an active skin infection or inflammation at the injection site.
  • Have a known allergy or sensitivity to hyaluronic acid.
  • Have an autoimmune or bleeding disorder.
  • Are unwell on the day of treatment (for example, with a cold, flu, or fever).
  • If unsure, please contact the clinic for advice before your appointment.

Possible Side Effects

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps at injection sites are normal and typically subside within 24–48 hours. Bruising may also occur but is usually minor. Rare side effects include infection, allergic reaction, or inflammation. Your clinician will discuss all potential risks with you during your consultation.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

  • Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory medication for 24–48 hours before treatment (unless prescribed by your GP) to minimise bruising.
  • Do not use retinol, glycolic acid, or exfoliating products on the skin for 24 hours prior.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure or heat treatments before your appointment.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
  • Eat a light meal before treatment to reduce faintness.
  • Plan your appointment at least 2 weeks before any major social events to allow the skin to settle.
