Thriyv: Aftercare Information Sheet – Profhilo
Purpose
This guide provides information on what to expect following your Profhilo treatment and how to care for your skin to ensure optimal healing and results. Please follow these instructions carefully.
Immediately After Treatment
It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps at the injection points. These are temporary and usually settle within 24–48 hours. Occasionally, small bruises may appear and will fade naturally over the following days.
Aftercare Advice
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Do not apply makeup for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours, as these may increase swelling or bruising.
- Refrain from saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, and hot baths for 48 hours.
- Avoid facial massages, beauty treatments, or skin resurfacing procedures for 7 days.
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid excessive heat or cold exposure.
Skin Care and Hydration
Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin production and improves skin hydration from within. To support this process:
- Drink plenty of water for at least 48 hours after treatment.
- Use a gentle cleanser and avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acid, or exfoliating products for 24 hours.
- Keep skin well moisturised and avoid harsh products.
- Apply SPF 30 or higher daily to protect against UV damage.
Healing and Results
You may notice initial improvement in skin hydration and radiance within a few days, but the full results develop gradually over 3–6 weeks as collagen and elastin production increases. The skin will feel firmer, smoother, and more luminous with continued improvement after the second session.
Possible Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and temporary. These can include redness, swelling, bruising, or small lumps at injection sites. Rarely, infection or inflammatory reactions can occur. Contact the clinic if you experience any prolonged or unusual symptoms.
When to Contact the Clinic
Please contact Thriyv immediately if you experience:
Persistent redness, swelling, or pain beyond 72 hours.
Increasing tenderness, warmth, or signs of infection.
Fever, rash, or general unwellness.
Any other concerns that feel unusual or severe.
Maintenance and Ongoing Care
To maintain the benefits of Profhilo, it is recommended to complete both sessions in your initial treatment plan and schedule maintenance treatments every 6 months. Supporting your skin with a consistent skincare routine, hydration, and sun protection will prolong and enhance your results.
