Prior to THRIYV, Dan spent 20 years as a frontline Police Officer and Custody Sergeant in Greater Manchester Police, and Simon 3 decades leading a successful financial advisory practice. Whilst both industries were different, with their own physical and mental demands, Dan and Simon realised one thing – regardless of your role and demands, prioritising your recovery and wellbeing is paramount to achieving a healthy work-life balance.
THRIYV began with Dan and Simon being users of the same wellbeing services THRIYV has come to offer. After experiencing the benefits first hand, and the annoyance of having to visit multiple separate specialist businesses to pursue their wellbeing goals, the pair created THRIYV, and with it, built a market leader in the middle of Manchester City Centre.
THRIYV isn’t just a Cryotherapy or Lymphatic Drainage centre. It is one of the only places in Manchester City Centre that can provide individuals interested in improving their recovery and wellbeing a consolidated option to pursuing their goals. Advanced recovery protocols have changed Dan and Simon’s lives, and it is their mission to bring evidence-based wellness solutions to Manchester and the North West, and make them as accessible as possible for those who want to eliminate burnout, sustain high athletic performance and improve their wellbeing.
Dr Cal graduated with honours from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 2019, placing in the top 5% of his class.
Starting his medical career in Manchester, Dr. Cal found his calling in Ear, Nose, & Throat (ENT) and Head & Neck Surgery. Gaining extensive experience in these fields and earning membership in the Royal College of Surgeons.
Driven by a passion for helping others achieve transformative results, Dr. Cal transitioned into the field of medical aesthetics to enhance not only physical appearances but also the overall well-being of his clients. His approach combines surgical precision with a deep understanding of facial aesthetics, aiming to provide safer and effective treatments tailored to each individual’s needs.
Jess graduated from the University of Chester with a degree in Paediatric Nursing. As a scrub practitioner, she mastered various surgical techniques.
A strong advocate for patient safety, Jess has been involved in research projects aimed at improving ENT surgical care for children worldwide. Her work has earned her speaking engagements at the world’s largest paediatric ENT conference, highlighting her expertise in the field.
Jess aims to boost her clients’ confidence with natural, undetectable results that make them feel like the best version of themselves. With her meticulous approach and commitment to patient care, Jess ensures an exceptional experience for every client she serves.
Alicia graduated from university with a 2:1 in Financial Services and went on to work in the financial services industry for several years. She later followed her passion for healthy living by co-owning a health-focused restaurant. In recent years, Alicia has worked in administrative roles that have allowed her to balance her career with being a mum.
As THRIYV Clinic Manager, Alicia uses her prior experience and client engagement skills to support the day-to-day running of THRIYV and ensure our clients get the most out of their time at the hub.
Alicia has a strong interest in health, wellness and living a balanced lifestyle. Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, Pilates and spending time outdoors.
Liv is a final-year Business Studies student and young entrepreneur with her own developing e-commerce brand. Liv’s work on her own business, and her background in competitive showjumping, has instilled a commitment to maintaining high standards and a strong appreciation of the discipline required to maintain peak physical performance.
Liv brings her experience and her understanding of the importance of recovery to THRIYV, and is responsible to helping deliver THRIYV’s advanced wellness treatments. Liv takes pride in her knowledge of our clinical protocols, and is there to help our clients navigate their wellness journeys and achieve the revitalisation they’re seeking.
Thriyv’s aesthetics offering is delivered exclusively by medical professionals – the same professionals who have overseen the development of our wellness service offering and protocols.
Thriyv’s medical professionals are all registered with a designated professional body (GMC/NMC). This means they uphold a professional code of conduct, and are accountable for all their practice.
Thriyv’s practitioners come from seasoned medical and surgical backgrounds meaning they have a deep understanding of the science behind the treatments being offered, as well as strong clinical acumen to guide you safely through the entire treatment process.
With a surgical career also comes an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy underpinning aesthetics treatments, meaning our practitioners bring precision when administering these treatments and a keen awareness of all the vital structures in the facial regions such as blood vessels, nerves and glands.
In addition, their work in the NHS has given all of our practitioners a strong understanding of key principles such as confidentiality, consent, communication and professionalism which is rooted into every corner of our business.
Thriyv was built by bringing likeminded people together. People who wanted a space where they could rest, recuperate and reset, and build towards a healthier more productive version of themselves. After chatting with our nearest and dearest (and anyone that would listen to be honest!), we realised that we weren’t alone.
We also realised that whilst Manchester is THE best city to live in, and the people of the North are unmatched, making friends and finding likeminded people who don’t just want to go on night out after night out can be challenging.
That’s why at Thriyv, community is everything to us, and we aim to be a safe and welcoming space for those looking to take their health and wellness game to the next level, and surround themselves with people who want the same!
From our run clubs, to our social mixers or promotional events, Thriyv is a community driven hub that aims to help you not only level up your recovery and reach your goals, but find others who share the same mindset and want to go on that same journey.
Thriyv is staffed by medical professionals, and as such we’re committed to operating an ethical service across our portfolio. As mentioned, our medical professionals are all registered with a designated professional body meaning they are held accountable for their practices. That’s why all of our aesthetic services are administered by registered medical professionals only, and our wellness services have been review and their associated protocols crafted with oversight from our medical professionals.
All of our aesthetics clients are screened for Body Dysmorphia Disorder (BDD), to enable us to identify potentially vulnerable individuals and help them seek help from professionals with experience in managing these conditions. Whilst we will always champion an individual exercising their right to pursue aesthetic treatments, Thriyv will not proceed with treatments where is it not assessed to be in the clients best interest.
