Drawing on a comprehensive suite of imaging modes, the Observ 520x provides you with unparalleled insight into your skin’s health, providing us with the insight required to develop and implement a truly bespoke treatment regime.
Whether it’s redness, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, uneven texture or signs of aging, the Observ 520x not only helps in the creation of your bespoke treatment plan, but provides you with a high quality means to continue to track your progress at key stages throughout your journey.
Want to learn more about how an Observ 520x Skin Analysis at Thriyv could help you? Check out below for a deep dive into the different imaging modes.
The Observ 520x draws on a comprehensive suite of 10 light modes to uncover hidden skin stories, enabling you to receive personalised care, backed by visual evidence.
The Pigmentation light mode shows variations in skin tone, revealing areas of uneven pigmentation and sun exposure.
Skin tone inhomogeneities such as hyperpigmentation and discolouration contribute a lot to the apparent age of people, which is why this light mode is great at identifying key areas for onwards targeting with high-quality skincare.
Common types of hyperpigmentation can include melasma, sunspots and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
With the Vascularity light mode, vascular anomalies and inflammation to the dermis become clearly visible, highlighting areas of redness, identifying sensitivity and other skin reactions.
Redness is often related to sensitive skin and can be a significant chronic or temporary concern.
It occurs when the skin’s natural barrier function is compromised, causing water loss and allowing the penetration of irritants.
This light mode Simulates the Wood’s lamp effect, revealing oil balance and areas of lipid dryness for a comprehensive skin assessment.
During the scan, short wavelength blue light is reflected by skin lipids, resulting in a light and pinkish coloured haze appearing on areas where the hydrolipid film is distributed and sebaceous glands are active, like the T-Zone and U-Zone.
Additionally, thinning structures and de-pigmentation also become visible.
The Skin Texture light mode reveals surface details, highlighting fine lines and skin smoothness.
Early signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, visible pore structures and bumpy skin become more apparent under this light, helping us develop our understanding of the overall skin’s micro-relief.
This Texture light mode is also a good indicator of the quality of the underlying skin tissue.
The True UV light mode uncovers sub-surface pigmentation, while also revealing bacterial activity and variations in skin thickness for a deeper skin analysis.
In this mode, a harmless dose of invisible UV light is radiated on the skin, interacting with different cells, vessels and microorganisms.
This causes abnormalities on both the epidermis and dermis to create distinguishable fluorescent patterns which stand out from healthy skin.
The Cross Polarised light mode suppresses the skin’s surface shine, revealing deeper skin layers and offering a clearer view of the skin barrier.
With an unobstructed view of dermal structures, conditions and inflammations, this mode can help identify key clusters of rosacea, acne, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
Thriyv will then use this information to build you a bespoke treatment plan to help soothe your skin.
The Parallel Polarised light mode enhances specular reflections of light on the surface texture of the skin.
This enhances glyphic patterns, the distribution of the hydrolipid film, pore structures, fine surface textures and reveals early wrinkles in detail.
This mode assists in diagnosing skin conditions related to the skin’s micro-relief, like dry lines and crow’s feet, whilst the view on deeper tissues is diminished.
Every journey starts with a baseline, and the Daylight light mode is our tool to capture that.
This mode illuminates the face with a natural and soft light coming from all directions and eliminates shadows to avoid emphasising any particular area on the skin.
We’ll use this mode to continually track your progress on your journey, so you can continually review and assess how far your skin has come.
At Thriyv, we take a holistic approach to aesthetics, with injectables forming a key part of our approach.
The 360 Light mode allows us to cast shadows across the face, which can reveal even the smallest topographical irregularities and texture variations.
This mode is highly suited to injectables, and can highlight the loss of facial fullness, decreased tissue elasticity and the effects of gravity on soft facial tissue.
Another tool in our arsenal is the 360 Grey light mode.
Similar to the 360 Light mode, the 360 Grey light mode allows us to cast shadows across the face and identify key areas for targeted injectable treatments.
In this mode, the neutral greyscale lighting removes colour distraction, enabling us to focus purely on form, shape, and contours.
Every Observ 520x Skin Analysis at Thriyv begins with a comprehensive consultation.
On your arrival at our Manchester City Centre wellness hub, one of our medical professionals will review your medical history, discuss your goals and how Thriyv can help you achieve them. This will help us identify any known concerns or areas for specific focus during the analysis.
Our medical professionals will guide you through the scanning process, and help you fit your headband and gown which helps blockout excess light.
Once in the machine, the Observ 520x will take a series of images under advanced lighting conditions. You’ll be scanned 3 separate times at different angles to ensure we get the fullest sight of your face.
Whilst it’s important to stay as still as possible to ensure we capture high quality images, our professionals will review the scans in realtime so that we can retake any if necessary.
On completion of your scan, our medical professionals will walk you through each of your images from the 10 light modes. This will highlight any overtly noticeable findings or concerns, meaning we can begin to start building a plan thats specific to you.
In the days that follow, our medical professionals will thoroughly examine your Observ 520x results, reviewing the findings in more detail.
You’ll then receive a completely bespoke report that contains any identified concerns, their causes and the skincare, services and treatments that can help you improve or navigate them.
If you have any questions about you report findings, you’ll be able to take advantage of a free in-clinic follow-on consultation. If you’re content with the recommendations and want to start your journey with Thriyv, you can begin to schedule your treatments or order your skincare through our online portal.
